James Good

Managing Director & Partner

Mr. Good is a Managing Director and Founding Partner at Attessa Capital. Prior to founding the firm, he served in senior investment positions at several of the largest asset managers in the world. Before relocating to Tucson, Mr. Good was a Portfolio Manager at Cascade Investment/BMGI (the investment office of Bill Gates and his foundation). Prior to joining Cascade Investment/BMGI, he was a Vice President and Investment Research Analyst at Wellington Management (a Boston based firm with over $1 trillion under management). In this role, he helped manage mutual funds and investment accounts for clients such as Vanguard, Goldman Sachs, the Hartford, John Hancock, and many other institutions.  He began his investment career as an Analyst at Ford Motor Company. Mr. Good has served in leadership positions at various for-profit and non-profit organizations, including on the board of directors of The Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. He graduated cum laude from Brigham Young University and received an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Matthew Harrison, CFA, CFP®

Managing Director & Partner

Mr. Harrison is a Managing Director and Founding Partner at Attessa Capital. Prior to founding the firm, he was Founder and Chief Investment Officer at Harrison Wealth Management. Prior to founding Harrison Wealth Management, he was Partner and Co-Chief Investment Officer at RMH Investment Management. Before relocating to Tucson, Mr. Harrison was a Vice President and Institutional Portfolio Manager at Northern Trust. In that role, he managed investments for various pension plans, foundations, endowments, and nonprofits. He began his investment career as an Analyst at Relational Investors (a San Diego based investment firm with over $12 billion under management). Mr. Harrison taught Applied Portfolio Management to graduate and under-graduate students at the University of Arizona and remains a frequent guest lecturer. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Arizona with a major in finance. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder (CFA®), a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), and serves in various leadership positions at several non-profit organizations, including the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona.  

Alec Berens, CFA

Managing Director & Partner

Mr. Berens is a Managing Director and Founding Partner at Attessa Capital. Prior to founding the firm, he was the Director of Investment Research at an investment firm in Arizona with over $300 million in assets. In that role, he led a team of research analysts in evaluating global equity and fixed income securities. Prior to this, he was in Equity Research at JMP Securities (a San Francisco based investment bank). Before beginning his investment career, Mr. Berens was sponsored by Bridgestone as a professional golfer. He currently serves on the board of directors as Board Chair for the El Rio Health Center and as a board member for Jewish Philanthropies of Southern Arizona (JPSA). Mr. Berens graduated from Emory University with an undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Economics and is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder (CFA®). He holds the Arizona Community Foundation’s Endowment Building certificate and has been recognized with the Tucson 40 under 40 award.

David Kornberg, CFA, CPA

Managing Director & Partner

Mr. Kornberg is a Managing Director and Founding Partner at Attessa Capital. Prior to founding the firm, he was the Director of Alternative Investments at an investment firm in Arizona with over $300 million in assets. In that role, he led a team of research analysts in evaluating Private Equity, Private Debt, Commodity, and Real Estate opportunities. Prior to this, he worked in the New York City offices of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in their Assurance and Management Consulting practices. At PwC, Mr. Kornberg concentrated on serving the Banking and Financial Services industry. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder (CFA®), and currently serves on the board of directors for Archaeology Southwest. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Arizona with a double major in Finance and Accounting.

Chris Campisano, CFA, CAIA

Managing Director

Mr. Campisano is a Managing Director at Attessa Capital.  Prior to joining the firm, he worked for over 30 years in the institutional investment management industry. Before moving to Tucson, Mr. Campisano was Senior Investment Strategist at Wells Fargo Asset Management in their multi-asset solutions group. Prior to his time at WFAM, he was a Managing Director at BlackRock (a New York based firm with assets over $9 trillion). At BlackRock, Mr. Campisano led the firm’s multi-asset strategy hedge fund. Mr. Campisano began his career managing the pension assets for several large US companies including Delta Air Lines and Xerox. He is a founding member of the Chicago Quantitative Alliance and co-authored the Risk Standards for Institutional Investment Managers and Institutional Investors. Mr. Campisano is a Board Member and Chair of the Investment Committee for the Catholic Community Foundation in Phoenix. He graduated from the University of Arizona and received an MBA from the University of Chicago. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder (CFA®) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA).

Marisol Ramos

Vice President

Ms. Ramos is a Vice President at Attessa Capital. Prior to joining the firm, she was a Financial Advisor at Harrison Wealth Management. Before her career in investment management, Ms. Ramos held various senior-level positions in corporate finance most recently as Controller, Aftermarket Product Group at Walbro, LLC. Prior to her service at Walbro, LLC, she worked at Honeywell Aerospace. Ms. Ramos began her career at Bancomext (a Mexico State-Owned Bank) where she facilitated international trade. She graduated with honors from the Tecnologico de Monterrey and received an MBA from the University of Arizona. 

Troy Short

Business Development

Mr. Short is in Business Development at Attessa Capital. Prior to joining Attessa Capital, he was an Advisor with Harrison Wealth Management. In that role, he cultivated new client relationships and supported the firm’s client services function. Before joining Harrison Wealth Management, Mr. Short worked at Champion Bank for 15 years. He has previously served as a Business Development Consultant for Waverly Spencer—a financial services marketing firm. He is currently a member of the Tucson Conquistadores, an organization dedicated to raising funds for underprivileged children in Southern Arizona. Mr. Short also volunteers with The First Tee, a charitable organization that seeks to build character and self-confidence in children through golf.

Shelleigh Wolfe-Petersen

Client Services Manager

Ms. Wolfe-Petersen is in Client Services at Attessa Capital. She has built a multi-decade long career in the wealth management industry, specializing in client relationship and trust management. Prior to joining Attessa Capital, Ms. Wolfe-Petersen was a Relationship Manager at Harrison Wealth Management. Before her service at Harrison Wealth Management, she was a Client Service Associate at RMH Investment Management. Ms. Wolfe-Petersen also worked at Northern Trust for nearly 15 years, ending her time there as a Second Vice President and Trust Officer. She began her investment career at Harris Trust Bank.

Alexis Lundgren

Client Services Manager

Ms. Lundgren is in Client Services at Attessa Capital.  Before joining Attessa Capital, she was Client Service Manager at ArcherHall—a leading digital forensics firm. Prior to her work at ArcherHall, Ms. Lundgren served as a Paralegal at several Arizona based law firms. She is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt and holds the Series 65 license from FINRA. Ms. Lundgren graduated Summa Cum Laude from Northern Arizona University and has a Master of Business Administration degree.
